CNC Generals: GLA - Rush Tactics

     The GLA units are the fastest of any faction. Made to hit and run the GLA has some powerful inexpensive rushes they can use to disrupt enemy production.

Technical and Terrorists

This is a very popular rush for several reasons. The technical is fast so it can get past and away from all enemy units making the chance for success extremely high. The terrorist is very powerful and very cheap. A technical with terrorists costs the same amount as an upgraded bomb truck and has the potential to do the same amount of damage. Five terrorists will take out any building except a command center or super but most can take only 3 or 4. To do this as fast as possible make your terrorists as soon as your barracks is done and make a technical from your arms dealer as soon as its up. I usually send a worker and 4 terrorists because 4 can take out a supply or war factory and then I can get a tunnel close to his base.

Tunnel Rush

This was much more popular when tunnels built in ten seconds. It still works you just cant build the tunnels in the enemy base right away. Send a couple of your first workers to the enemy base and build tunnels right outside their viewing range. Then with all the rpg guys you have from all the tunnels you have made move in. Have your workers keep building tunnels closer to their base. If you encounter lots of infantry pull back to the tunnels. Add scorpions when you can and keep pushing. If you have kept them from expanding you have a good chance of winning and if not it will be very hard for them to leave the base. Make sure you still make scorpions though because if you spend to much money you will be vulnerable to their rushes.

Double Arms Dealer Scorpion Rush

This works best on smaller maps where the expansions are close to you. On the smaller maps tunnels are not as critical because your tanks can move fast and with this rush you will not have a barracks for a while. You should still expand like normal but instead of making a barracks start two arms dealers as soon as your supply stash is done. Build the rocket upgrade from one and scorpions from the other. After the rocket upgrade is done make scorpions from both and attack when you have 5 tanks. If you have at least 2 supply stashes going you can continually make tanks from both arms dealers. Keep sending in wave after wave of scorpions. Take out his important structures and then his dozers. It maybe slow going but keep the pressure on and you have a good chance of winning. The only disadvantage to this is you will be very vulnerable early on because you will not have tunnels or a barracks.

These are the most popular rushes and they work most of the time. However I think the last two have too many disadvantages with them. I usually do the technical and terrorist rush with four terrorist and a worker like I mentioned. I drop the worker off near their base but not to close that they will see and immediately make a tunnel. The terrorists then take out their supply center or war factory. During this time I can expand and get scorpion tanks relatively easy. Then with the rpg guys from my tunnels and the scorpions I have done (usually three with rockets) I attack from the tunnel. This usually wins the game for me early on. If I fail however that does not mean I will lose because I was still able to expand and get my base up. If I meet up with heavy resistance I usually retreat and attack from another side. I continue to hit and run the enemy base constantly the whole game. If you keep your enemy on the defensive you control the game and he can only react.
