CNC Generals: The USA - General
Abilities
The USA has the most useful Generals Abilities in my
opinion. Combining a good mix of direct damage, unit infiltration and some of
the best units in the game. The only thing the USA lacks is a way to make money
with an ability which is somewhat good in order to keep the expense of the USA
a weakness.
Paladin Tank
The paladin tank is a great addition to the USA arsenal. Just remember that the
only difference between a crusader and a paladin is the paladin has the laser,
20 extra hit points, and costs 200 credits more. So I would recommend sticking
with your crusaders unless your enemy is using a lot of rocket weapons. Do not
just get this tank to counter rocket infantry because rocket infantry can
easily overwhelm the laser. It is most effective when countering aircraft,
scuds, and tomahawks.
Spy Drone
This is your most important ability. Reconnaissance is critical and can easily
put the game in your favor. Always get this.
Stealth Fighter
Only get this plane if you want to take out defensive structures easily. If you
want to go after tanks or buildings use your other planes and save the Generals
point.
Pathfinder
This is a very good unit to have around. Dominates all infantry on the field.
With extreme long range, stealth detection, and staying camouflaged it is one
of the best units in the game. I highly recommend this unit if their is any
kind of infantry in your enemies army.
Para drop
It is always nice to be able to place free rangers wherever they are needed.
Capture buildings in the back of an enemy base or get some anti-infantry power
where you need it. Personally. I rather have the direct damage of the A10's
before this. Once you get more points though this can be very useful.
A10 Strike
If you get this upgraded all they way you can kill any building except for a
command center or super weapon. It is also useful for taking out tanks and
such. The only downside is the planes can be shot down so if you target
something behind lots of anti-air 1 of the planes may not make it.
Emergency Repair
Emergency repair is only useful if you are getting attacked be area effect
weapons like scud launchers or scorpion missiles. If you get it you can heal up
very nicely after a scud hits a group of your tanks. In tank battles it is less
useful because most of the time everyone concentrates their fire on one tank
making the repair only work for one tank. Since you have to use valuable points
on it and it has a long recharge time I would not recommend ever getting this.
Fuel Air Bomb
If you get all the way to 5 stars you definitely want this. It does a lot of
damage but has a limited area of effect. With the Fuel Air Bomb and 3 A10's you
can severely damage if not kill a super weapon or command center.
