CNC Generals: The USA - Defense Tactics
The USA is more vulnerable to rushes because they have a higher
cost to everything. With their scouting abilities though they can use what
little funds they have to properly defend from any rush.
The Chinook Rush
As I stated in the USA rush section this is fairly easy to stop. If you scout
his base you should be able to see what he is bringing. All you really need to
stop this is a humvee and a missile defender. Run over the men and kill the
dozer. If he gets lucky he might be able to kill your humvee with his own
missile defenders so make two humvess and you will still be ahead economically.
The Humvee Rush
You should be able to see this one coming in which case you can just make your
own humvee. You can also just use a couple missile defenders if he does not
deploy his men. If he tries to run your men over his own rocket guys inside the
humvee will do damage to the humvee when he gets close. If he deploys his men it
basically becomes an Infantry war in which case flash bangs win.
The Comanche Rush.
This is easy to stop if you see it. If he makes an airfield first get the tow
upgrade and a couple of humvees and the rush is stopped.
The Gattling/Flame tank rush
This rush can hurt the USA the most so make sure you see which way his tank is
coming in. The best defense against this is crusaders. Crusaders will kill
either tank with ease the only problem is the Gattling tank is faster. If you
have two crusaders though you can easily cut it off. Just make sure to split
them up and stay near your base. Missile defenders work but they will never
catch a Gattling and you need 3 to kill one so stick with the tanks.
The Gattling Tank/Tank Hunter Rush
This rush is one of the hardest to defend as USA. The best thing you can do is
get crusaders and rangers w/flash bang. I have done this a couple of games and
it can become tedious. I move up rangers so he pulls back tank hunters and move
up Gatts. I then pull back my rangers and send up the crusaders. He pulls back
Gatts and brings up tank hunters etc. etc. If he does not have a good mix of
both Gattling tanks and tank hunters you can simply suicide your units to kill
one type of his and that works. You can also try attacking with both at the same
time but that doesn't always go to well. Patriot batteries work well because it
takes a lot of rockets to kill it but they can be avoided. Paladins can really
help you also but you most likely will have already used your first point on spy
drone.
The Bunker Rush
You should be able to see the dozer coming. Kill the dozer stop the rush.
The Technical Terrorist Rush
The best way to stop this rush is with a Comanche. It will kill everything and
you will lose nothing also forcing him to make quads hampering his tank
production. If you did not make an airfield though use a humvee with at least
two rocket guys and one ranger. Just stay away from the terrorists.
The Tunnel Rush
Hopefully you can see the workers headed to your base. Simply intercept the
worker with a humvee. If they get one up keep there rocket guys at bay with
rangers and as soon as you have 3 tanks or so destroy the tunnel with your
rangers close by.
The Double Arms Dealer Scorpion Rush
Get crusaders or paladins and keep making them. Make missile defenders also and
put them in front of your tanks (spread them out) that way when he charges your
tanks he uses all of his rockets to kill one of your missile defenders allowing
you to win the tank battles. Watch out for attacks from the sides or the back of
your base your drones should help keep an eye on his tank movement.
